JA!COCO! Maximal Design Studio
In the past five years JA!COCO! have designed celebrated Edinburgh bars and eateries such as Civerinos Slice, The High Dive, Hula Juice Café and 83 Hanover Street. Indeed the latter, 83 Hanover Street, was this year nominated for Best Breakthrough at the GQ Food & Drink Awards.
Led by founder & creative director Jaco Justice (pictured above in The High Dive) our unique and maximal approach to commercial interiors is in stark contrast to the Scottish capital's (somewhat) over reliance on traditional designing that’s often stuck within the nostalgic architectural parameters of the Old and New Towns.
With a keen eye on Edinburgh's heritage and how it balances progress and historical conservation, Jaco previously served as Art Director of the Edinburgh International Fashion Festival for its five year existence. Originally commissioned at the newly-founded Summerhall in 2012, the festival brought fashion and creative luminaries such as Amanda Harlech, Hussein Chalayan, Bella Freud, NOWNESS, Pam Hogg, Rankin and United Visual Artists to their vast array of events across many of Edinburgh's most stunning venues including NMS, Assembly Rooms and Mansfield Traquair. Indeed one of JA!COCO!'s earlier interior and brand design commissions was the Festival Theatre Cafe.
